Lucknow: In a disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar on Saturday, six men allegedly attacked a Muslim girl and a Hindu boy, sparking outrage after a video of the assault surfaced online. The six men, identified as Sartaj, Shadab, Umar, Arsh, Shoaib, and Shami, were arrested by the police shortly after the incident.

The shocking attack occurred when the burqa-clad woman was riding on a bike with her colleague, Sachin, a Hindu man, after completing a loan collection task. The accused stopped the pair and reportedly demanded to know their names. The situation quickly escalated as the attackers began assaulting the Hindu man and then proceeded to harass the woman. One of the attackers allegedly removed the woman’s burqa, pulled her hair, and slapped her during the assault.

Fortunately, bystanders intervened, helping the victims and preventing further harm. The victims filed a formal complaint with the police, who swiftly took action and apprehended the suspects.

The incident bears similarities to a case that took place in Bengaluru, Karnataka, earlier in April, where a group of Muslim men allegedly harassed a burqa-clad woman and her Hindu male companion. Four individuals involved in that assault have been arrested, highlighting a rising concern about communal tensions and attacks in different parts of the country.
