“Shaam-e-Shafqat” Celebrates India’s Cultural Diversity in Pattan Baramulla

Srinagar: In a vibrant tribute to India’s rich cultural legacy, “Shaam-e-Shafqat”, a grand cultural festival, was held at Zorawar Hall, Pattan, Baramulla, on Tuesday. The event was jointly organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Indian Army.

Bringing together the artistic essence of India, the festival featured renowned folk artists from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, who delivered mesmerizing performances showcasing the nation’s diverse cultural traditions.

The day-long celebration offered audiences a colourful spectacle of folk dances, traditional music, and regional art forms, beautifully portraying the depth and diversity of India’s cultural heritage. Each act reflected the unique flavour of its region, resonating with the theme of “Unity in Diversity.”

Soulful renditions of traditional songs further enriched the experience, evoking a deep sense of national pride and cultural identity. The energetic and captivating performances created an atmosphere of celebration, drawing enthusiastic applause and appreciation from the audience.

Beyond entertainment, the festival aimed to promote, preserve, and popularize India’s cultural heritage, while fostering cultural integration and awareness among the youth of North Kashmir. It served as a meaningful platform for intercultural connection and national unity, reinforcing the values that define the Indian ethos.

The event witnessed participation from students and members of civil society across North Kashmir, who responded with resounding applause throughout the day, affirming the festival’s success in bridging cultural distances and celebrating the spirit of a united India.
