The letter states that on April 20 the state Health Ministry in its order had stated that doctors on contract will get monthly remuneration of Rs.55,000 to Rs.60,000. Earlier the same contract doctors were paid including monthly allowances Rs 78,000.
This drastic cut off in the salaries has demoralised the health-workers who are fighting against coronavirus.
Amit Thackeray has reminded the CM Thackeray that he during all his speeches mentioned the doctors, nurses and others in health care system are COVID Warriors, thus asked him to reconsider the cut off in the salaries of health-workers.
