In a startling revelation, NCP leader and MLA Rohit Pawar has levied serious allegations against the ruling Grand Alliance, claiming a milk scam in ashram schools for tribal children. Holding a press conference, he presented evidence and statistics to support his claims, igniting a firestorm of controversy.

What Rohit Pawar Unveiled

Rohit Pawar disclosed receiving 11 files from an anonymous source, two of which he brought to light during the press conference. These files purportedly contain information exposing corruption within crucial government departments. The primary focus of his allegations centered on the ashram school milk procurement process.

The Alleged Milk Scam: Details Unveiled

According to Rohit Pawar, the agreement stipulated the purchase of 250 ml of milk for 1,87,000 students across the state. However, discrepancies emerged in the procurement process. While the contracted rate was Rs. 146 per liter, the actual expenditure far exceeded the estimated cost.

Discrepancy in Expenditure: Shocking Figures Revealed

Rohit Pawar revealed a stark contrast between the projected and actual expenditure. While Rs. 85 crore should have sufficed for milk procurement, a staggering Rs. 165 crore was disbursed, along with an additional brokerage of Rs. 80 crore. These funds allegedly lined the pockets of private milk producer organizations in Ambegaon and Panhala talukas.

Questioning Development Claims: Farmer’s Plight Ignored?

Criticizing the discrepancy in milk procurement rates, Rohit Pawar questioned the government’s commitment to farmer welfare. He lambasted the apparent disparity, where milk was acquired from farmers at Rs. 30 per liter and sold at Rs. 143, purportedly benefiting vested interests over agricultural prosperity.

Response and Retaliation

Although Rohit Pawar refrained from directly naming individuals or organizations, speculation arose regarding alleged involvement of Dilse Patil and Hasan Mushrif from Ajit Pawar’s NCP. In response, Amol Meetkari, a leader within Ajit Pawar’s faction, condemned Rohit Pawar’s allegations, questioning his own financial dealings and the seizure of his factory.

Unraveling Political Tensions

The allegations put forth by Rohit Pawar have injected fresh tensions into the political landscape, highlighting divisions within the Grand Alliance. As accusations and rebuttals fly, the public awaits further developments, underscoring the volatile nature of Maharashtra’s political arena.
