Srinagar: Renowned social and peace activist of Kashmir Sheikh Jamsheed on Saturday extended his heartiest felicitations to the Muslims across the country on the auspicious eve of Shab-i-Miraj, The Night of Ascendance.
Sheikh Jamsheed in his message said “Shab-e-Miraj is observed in the Holy Month of Rajab by the Ummati-Muslima all over the world. Every year on the night of 26th of Rajab, Muslims observe Shab-e-Miraj (Isra Night) in which the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) went on a special journey to meet the creator of the heavens and of the earths, Allah (SWT), crossing seven skies on the heavenly creature named ‘Al-Buraq.’
The Isra Night is also mentioned in the Holy Quran in these words: “Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (Quran, 17:1).
Sheikh Jamsheed further added “The night of Shab-e-Miraj is a blessed night, it has so much significance because Allah Almighty blessed the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) with His own blessed sight. Sheikh said ” In this night of blessings and Peace, I urge every Ummati-Muslima to pray for the safety and well-being of Mankind, and also pray for the country’s strength, tranquillity and harmony.
