Srinagar: Srinagar city experienced scorching temperatures today, reaching a sweltering 35 degrees Celsius, marking the hottest June day in 18 years.
Interestingly, the same temperature reading of 35 degrees Celsius was recorded in June 2018, indicating a recurring pattern of intense heat during this time of the year.
It’s worth noting that the highest-ever maximum temperature recorded in the month of June was on June 29, 1978, when the mercury soared to a staggering 37.8 degrees Celsius.
The recent heatwave has gripped Srinagar, setting a new record for the city’s June temperatures and prompting concerns about the impact of rising temperatures on the local environment and residents’ well-being.
