Recall Governor Koshyari from Maharashtra for continuously insulting the state, demands MPCC chief Nana Patole

The Governor’s statements about Mumbai are outrageous, he must apologize to Maharashtra.

Mumbai: Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari has once again insulted Mumbai and Maharashtra by making unwarranted statements about the city. He should not forget the immeasurable contributions made by Marathi people in building Mumbai. Koshyari should apologize for insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Maharashtra by making irresponsible and baseless comments. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole has demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove Koshyari from the post of Governor of Maharashtra.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, MPCC president Nana Patole while reacting to the statements made by Governor Koshyari, further said that Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s statement about the financial capital of Mumbai is outrageous. He should first verify his facts properly before speaking. Koshyari should know what Maharashtra has given to the Gujarati and Rajasthani community. Adani, Ambani and countless other industrialists who have attained success owe a large share of it to Mumbai and Maharashtra. No one can deny or take away Mumbai’s place in the country.

The post of a Governor is very prestigious and dignified but Koshyari has tarnished the image of this post. Koshyari has also insulted our great men by making inappropriate statements about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, who are the idols of Maharashtra. Governor Koshyari’s stand has always been anti-Maharashtra.

He has been continuously making irresponsible statements while in office but now he has crossed all the limits. We know the dignity of the post but the dignity should also be maintained by the persons holding that position but unfortunately it does not seem to be happening with Koshyari. Patole said that Congress demands that President of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah should take note of Governor Koshyari’s statement and recall him from Maharashtra.
