Mumbai: The Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (MRIDC), popularly known as MahaRail, is proud to announce the inauguration of two state-of-the-art Road Over Bridges (ROBs) at Reay Road and Titwala. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for 13th May 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Reay Road Bridge, Sant Savata Mali Marg, Byculla East. The event will be graced by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, along with the Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
The occasion will also witness the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Council and Assembly, and senior officials from Indian Railways, BMC, MMRDA, PWD, KDMC, as well as Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal, Managing Director of MahaRail.
The Reay Road Cable-Stayed ROB holds deep historical significance as it replaces a British-era crossing that served as one of Mumbai’s earliest grade separations on the Harbour Line. This newly constructed six-lane cable-stayed bridge is the first of its kind in the suburban region of Mumbai and symbolizes a fusion of heritage preservation and cutting-edge engineering. Connecting Byculla to Brittania Industries, the bridge is expected to drastically reduce peak-hour congestion and ensure a smooth, uninterrupted commute. Fully funded by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the bridge has been constructed by MahaRail at a cost of ₹266 crore.
Meanwhile, the Titwala ROB is a four-lane, 820-meter-long structure strategically located at the new Titwala Railway Station on the Kalyan Ring Road. It significantly enhances connectivity between Ambivli and Kalyan via the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganesh Mandir. Built at a cost of ₹100 crore and fully funded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the bridge is expected to reduce congestion on one of the region’s busiest routes. It has also been constructed by MahaRail.
These two landmark bridges mark another milestone in MahaRail’s ongoing mission to eliminate level crossings and introduce innovative grade separation solutions. They join a growing portfolio of transformative infrastructure, which includes upcoming ROBs at Dadar (Tilak Bridge), Ghatkopar, and Byculla—projects that blend historical relevance with modern utility.
