Alwar: In a major national security breakthrough, Rajasthan Intelligence arrested Mangat Singh, a 32-year-old resident of Govindgarh, Alwar, for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence). The arrest was made under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, following a detailed investigation by the CID Intelligence wing of Rajasthan Police.

Officials revealed that Singh’s suspicious activities were first detected during surveillance in Alwar’s cantonment area, a region of strategic significance within the National Capital Region (NCR). Authorities noted that Singh had been under observation for months, and the investigation uncovered regular communication with Pakistani handlers.

The probe revealed a startling twist: Singh was allegedly honey-trapped by a female ISI operative, using the pseudonym Isha Sharma. She reportedly offered financial incentives in exchange for sensitive information on India’s national security. Singh allegedly shared critical data in return for monetary benefits, raising concerns about potential leaks of classified defense information.

Investigators stated that Singh had maintained contact with Pakistani intelligence operatives through social media platforms for over two years, prompting fears about the depth and duration of espionage activities.

This arrest is part of Operation Sindoor, an ongoing initiative by Rajasthan Intelligence aimed at monitoring and countering espionage threats in strategic areas across the state. Alwar, due to its location within the NCR and proximity to key defense installations, is considered a high-risk zone for intelligence breaches. Authorities remain on high alert to prevent further infiltration attempts.
