The highly anticipated Vande Bharat Express is poised to commence operations between Lucknow and Dehradun, covering a distance of 750 kilometers in just eight hours. The Railway Board has unveiled the timetable for this futuristic train, which is expected to run six days a week, enhancing connectivity and efficiency in the region.

The Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express will traverse through key stations including Haridwar, Moradabad, and Bareilly Junction, facilitating seamless travel for passengers. While the exact commencement date is yet to be announced, authorities anticipate the service to begin before the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, providing a boost to transportation infrastructure.

Efforts to establish the Vande Bharat Express along the Lucknow-Delhi route via Bareilly have been ongoing for some time. Following surveys of various routes, including Delhi-Lucknow and Saharanpur-Lucknow, the Dehradun-Lucknow route emerged as the most viable option. However, challenges related to the average speed of trains between Bareilly and Lucknow initially stalled progress.

According to the timetable released by the Railway Board, the Vande Bharat Express will depart from Dehradun at 2:45 pm, making stops at Haridwar, Moradabad, and Bareilly, before reaching Lucknow at 10:40 pm. On the return journey, the train will depart from Lucknow at 5:15 am, arriving in Dehradun at 1:35 pm, with stops at key stations along the route.

In preparation for the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express, adjustments have been made to the schedules of 13 existing trains operating between Alamnagar, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Haridwar, and Dehradun. These modifications aim to optimize connectivity and streamline operations for the convenience of passengers.

Rakesh Singh, Chief Commercial Inspector, emphasized that the proposed operation of the Vande Bharat Express is a significant milestone. With the timetable finalized and operations set to commence soon, passengers can expect enhanced travel experiences and improved connectivity on this vital rail corridor.
