New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities in voter lists across multiple states, demanding a thorough discussion in Parliament.

“Questions are being raised on the voter list in every state. In Maharashtra, concerns were raised over the black-and-white voter list. The entire Opposition is simply asking for a discussion on the matter,” Gandhi stated in the House.

Echoing similar concerns, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saugata Roy highlighted that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had exposed identical EPIC numbers appearing in voter lists of Haryana and Bengal, signaling grave inconsistencies. “This shows serious flaws, which were previously identified in Maharashtra and Haryana. They are preparing for a similar manipulation ahead of elections in Bengal and Assam next year. The entire voter list must be revised,” Roy asserted, urging the Election Commission of India (ECI) to address these discrepancies.

Further intensifying the debate, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh accused the ECI and the central government of orchestrating electoral fraud by fabricating fake voters. “The Election Commission and the ruling party, by misusing government machinery, are creating fake voters. They have done this in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Delhi, and now they are replicating it in Bengal,” Singh told new agency.

Singh warned that if electoral malpractices continue unchecked, democracy would suffer irreparable damage. “If the election process is not fair, only one party will keep returning to power, and they will engage in corruption without accountability,” he added.
