“Under Trump’s Control?” Rahul Gandhi’s Sharp Attack on Modi Explained

A major political controversy has erupted after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his Lok Sabha speech on the West Asia conflict, accusing him of deliberately avoiding criticism of the United States and claiming he is “under the control” of US President Donald Trump.

“Why Didn’t Modi Name the US?”

Addressing a public gathering in Vadodara, Gandhi questioned the Prime Minister’s stance, saying that despite speaking for 25 minutes in Parliament, Modi did not mention or criticise the United States even once. He alleged that the Prime Minister would not be able to participate in a direct debate in Parliament because he is “compromised.”

Farmers at Risk from US Trade?

The Congress leader also raised concerns over India’s agricultural sector, claiming that the government has opened it up to American markets through trade arrangements. He warned that if US agricultural products enter India in large quantities, it could severely impact Indian farmers due to differences in scale and mechanisation.

Adivasi vs Vanvasi Debate Heats Up

In his speech, Gandhi also touched upon issues related to tribal identity and rights. He criticised the BJP and RSS for using the term “Vanvasi” instead of “Adivasi,” arguing that it undermines the identity and rights of indigenous communities over land, water, and forests. He further alleged that policies of the government are targeting these resources, which he said goes against the ideals of tribal icon Birsa Munda.

Political Tensions Rise

The remarks have intensified the political debate around India’s foreign policy, trade decisions, and internal social issues, with sharp reactions expected from the ruling party. The controversy comes at a time when the government is already under pressure to clarify its global stance amid the escalating West Asia crisis.
