Prakash Javadekar objects to Kamal Nath’s remarks calling new COVID variant as Indian variant

@the_news_21

Senior BJP leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar today objected to Congress leader Kamal Nath’s remarks calling the new COVID variant as the Indian variant. Mr Javadekar alleged that his comments are an insult to India saying WHO has clarified that no country’s name has been attributed to any variant. He accused Congress of creating fear and misconceptions among the people and weakening India’s fight against the pandemic.

Mr. Javadekar said, when COVAXIN was introduced, Congress had called it BJP vaccine, but it proved to be very effective and now the opposition party is saying that people who have taken this vaccine shot may not be able to make foreign trips. Dismissing the claim, Mr Javadekar said, the process to put COVAXIN in the World Health Organization’s list is underway and it has not taken any such decision of travel ban of people who have taken this vaccine.
