Srinagar: As a part of Jammu and Kashmir government’s public outreach programme, Handwara Police on Thursday organized ‘Thana Diwas’ at Police Station, Handwara.
The meeting was chaired by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Handwara Irshad Hussain, JKPS accompanied by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Handwara Fariz Hussain-JKPS and Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Handwara.
The meeting was attended by Chairman Municipal Committee Handwara, President Traders Federation Handwara, respectable citizens, civil societies of Handwara area, including Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders, Transporters and PRI’s.
In the public outreach programme numerous grievances raised by the general public were resolved on the spot as the chairing officer gave patient hearing to the participants and also assured that issues pertaining to other departments will be taken up accordingly with the concerned authorities.
It was also reiterated by the supervisory officer that the aim of the ‘Thana Diwas’ is to ensure timely and efficient services to the aggrieved persons in a very transparent judicious manner.
The participants were impressed upon to co-operate Handwara Police in maintaining law & order, drug free and crime free atmosphere in their respective area. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks from both sides.
