New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited the injured victims of the Red Fort blast at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital soon after returning from his two-day official visit to Bhutan. The Prime Minister interacted with the patients, enquired about their health, and wished them a speedy recovery.
Hospital officials and doctors briefed PM Modi on the medical condition of those undergoing treatment. Sources said the Prime Minister assured that the government would extend all possible support to the victims and their families.
Later in the day, PM Modi is set to chair a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) and a separate cabinet meeting at 5:30 pm to review the overall security situation and take stock of the ongoing investigation.
The visit came two days after a powerful car explosion near Delhi’s historic Red Fort claimed 13 lives and injured 24 others. The high-intensity blast caused severe damage to nearby vehicles and triggered a massive security alert across the capital.
