New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to travel to China from August 31 to September 1 to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, marking his first visit to the country since 2018. The summit is expected to be a high-stakes diplomatic event amid growing global friction, particularly following recent tensions between India and the United States over trade and energy policy.
Modi’s last official visit to China was in June 2018, when he attended the SCO Summit in Qingdao. This year’s summit, scheduled in Beijing, will once again bring together leaders from the SCO bloc, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
