PM Modi Roars in Bengal: ‘Terrorists Tried to Wipe Sindoor, We Gave a Fierce Reply’; Slams TMC Over Corruption, Lawlessness

Alipurduar: In a powerful address to a massive public gathering in Alipurduar on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily on Pakistan’s terror machinery and West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, accusing both of endangering national and social integrity.

PM Modi declared that India had crushed terror infrastructure across the border in a way Pakistan could have never imagined.

“Terrorists had dared to wipe the sindoor off our sisters’ foreheads, but our armed forces responded with the thunder of patriotism and made them realise the power of our sindoor,” he thundered, receiving roaring applause from the crowd.

Turning his focus to West Bengal’s internal situation, PM Modi painted a grim picture, describing the state as reeling under violence, insecurity, corruption, and rising unemployment. He held the TMC-led state government responsible for what he called “ruthless misgovernance.”

“The youth and poor families suffer the worst consequences of corruption. We saw how corruption ruins everything in the teacher recruitment scam. The TMC government destroyed the future and families of thousands of teachers. The entire education system is crumbling, lakhs of students are at risk, and yet they blame the courts instead of accepting their sins,” said Modi.

Referring to recent communal violence in Murshidabad and Malda, he said, “In the name of appeasement, hooliganism has been given a free hand. When a ruling party identifies and burns homes of citizens, and the police silently watches — is this governance? Bengal today is crying out — ‘Bengal mein machi cheekh pukaar, nahi chahiye nirmam sarkar’.”

PM Modi outlined five major crises plaguing West Bengal today:

Violence and anarchy in society

Insecurity among women

Despair and unemployment among youth

Declining trust in governance

Exploitative politics that robs the poor of their rights

He said the people of Bengal are desperate for a government that listens, delivers, and protects, unlike the current regime which he described as indifferent and autocratic.
