Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Christmas by attending a special morning service at the Cathedral Church of the Redemption in New Delhi, underlining his message of unity, harmony, and respect for India’s diverse faith traditions. The service featured traditional prayers, carols, and hymns, creating a solemn and festive atmosphere to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
The prayer service was led by the Bishop of Delhi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Swarup, and included a special prayer for the Prime Minister and the nation. PM Modi spent time interacting with members of the Christian community and later shared photographs and videos from the visit on social media, offering a glimpse into the celebrations.
In his message, the Prime Minister said the Christmas service reflected enduring values of love, peace, and compassion. He expressed hope that the spirit of the festival would encourage harmony, goodwill, and kindness across society. Extending his wishes to citizens, he said Christmas should renew hope and inspire collective efforts to build a more caring and inclusive nation.

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan also conveyed Christmas greetings, emphasising values of love, empathy, and social harmony. In his message, he said the teachings of Jesus Christ continue to guide society toward stronger bonds, compassion, and lasting peace.
