Celebrations at BJP Headquarters
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday joined party leaders and workers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, celebrating the party’s strong showing in the Assembly elections across West Bengal and Assam. The atmosphere was marked by visible enthusiasm as early results pointed towards significant gains for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing party members, Modi described the moment as a milestone, saying, “Today is a historic day. It is unprecedented. When years of effort turn into success, the happiness seen on the faces of people is the same happiness I see on BJP workers across the country.”
‘A Mandate of Trust and Performance’
Highlighting the broader significance of the results, Modi framed the outcome as a reflection of public confidence in governance and democratic values. “This is a day of trust—trust in India’s democracy, trust in the politics of performance, and trust in the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’,” he said.
Praise for Party Leadership
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the role of BJP’s organisational leadership, particularly lauding party president Nitin Nabin. He noted that these elections were the first major test under the new leadership and credited strategic guidance for strengthening the party’s performance across states.
According to Modi, coordinated efforts between leadership and grassroots workers played a crucial role in translating campaign momentum into electoral success.
Bypoll Wins Add Momentum
In addition to Assembly election trends, Modi pointed to encouraging outcomes in by-elections held across multiple states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Nagaland, and Tripura. He said voters in these regions had also backed BJP candidates, further strengthening the party’s national footprint.
He specifically mentioned the victory of Sunetra Pawar in Maharashtra, describing it as a decisive mandate that reflects public support for the NDA alliance.
National Outlook After Results
With strong performances emerging from key states, the BJP leadership views the results as an endorsement of its governance model and political strategy. The celebrations at the party headquarters underscored confidence within the organisation as it looks ahead to consolidating its position across the country.
