Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has ordered an inquiry into reports that several students missed their Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in the Pendurthi area of Visakhapatnam after being delayed allegedly due to traffic restrictions imposed for his official convoy.

In an official release, Pawan Kalyan’s office confirmed that the deputy CM has directed the Visakhapatnam police to thoroughly investigate the matter and determine the exact sequence of events. The release posed several questions for the police to address: “How long was the traffic stopped for the convoy? What was the traffic situation on the routes where the students had to reach the exam centre at that time? Was any traffic control done on the service roads?”

Kalyan, who also leads the Jana Sena Party, reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the public does not face inconvenience during his official visits. “Pawan Kalyan does not want people to face any inconvenience due to his tours,” the statement noted.

To prevent such incidents in the future, the deputy chief minister has instructed police to limit traffic restrictions to only what is absolutely necessary during official movements. The statement also clarified that even during helicopter travel, his team avoids any measures such as stopping traffic or tree-cutting that could inconvenience citizens.

Moreover, the Jana Sena central office has already issued clear guidelines to party leaders and workers, advising them to refrain from organizing garlanding ceremonies using cranes or holding events that may obstruct traffic. These protocols, it emphasized, are communicated and strictly followed during every official visit.
