Mumbai: Playback singer Pamela Jain has released a new rendition of Rabindranath Tagore’s classic Bengali composition “Ore Grihobashi, Khol Dwar Khol,” reintroducing the timeless song to contemporary listeners.
The track has been recorded under the Nova music label at Studio Acoustica in Kolkata. Originally composed by Tagore, the song remains one of the most evocative pieces in his seasonal repertoire, closely associated with the spirit of spring and cultural celebrations such as Basant and Holi.

“Ore Grihobashi, Khol Dwar Khol” carries a deeper philosophical message beyond its melody. It calls upon individuals to step out of isolation and embrace life, symbolising renewal, openness, and emotional awakening. The composition encourages listeners to break free from hesitation and connect with the vibrancy of the world around them.
The song has traditionally been performed during Basanta Utsav celebrations at Santiniketan, where it serves as an invitation to participate in festivities marked by colour, music, and community bonding.
Speaking about the release, Jain said the composition represents a call to welcome change and new beginnings, reflecting the essence of spring and human connection.
The rendition aims to retain the original emotional depth of Tagore’s work while presenting it in a contemporary musical form for today’s audience.
