New Delhi: Set to observe 5 August as a ‘Black Day’, various Pakistani groups and radical organizations would be staging protests across the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) regions.
With India celebrating the day as an anniversary of the abrogation Article 370, Pakistan under Imran Khan has vouched to up its ante in efforts to attract the attention of the international community.
According to reports, pro-POK organizations – Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir and the International Forum for Justice and Human Rights have announced anti-India sit-ins and demonstrations outside the United Nations Observers office against India’s decision. Members of the organizations wrote on social media that the people of Jammu and Kashmir should join the freedom struggle to escape from India’s military occupation and the right of self-determination and restore the state’s identity, unity, and Muslim character.
The two organizations on Tuesday held press conferences at the Central Press Club in the PoK region of Muzaffarabad asking Indian citizens to join their protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government.
A release issued by the organizations read that they seek the intervention of the international community to help them with the Kashmir issue. The organizations claimed that they would mark 5 August also as a ‘referendum day.’
