Mumbai: Opposition parties on Monday launched a strong protest inside the Maharashtra Legislature, demanding immediate action from the state government over delayed seed distribution to farmers ahead of the kharif sowing season. The protest saw vocal sloganeering by Opposition MLAs.
With monsoon rains already advancing across the state, timely seed supply has become critical for lakhs of farmers. However, Opposition leaders alleged that several talukas are yet to receive required quantities of certified seeds, causing distress and uncertainty for cultivators.
