‘Operation Tiger’ Buzz Grows: Uddhav Camp on Alert as Defection Rumours Shake Sena (UBT)

Fresh political speculation has gripped Maharashtra after reports suggested that several Shiv Sena (UBT) lawmakers could be considering a switch to the faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, raising concerns of another major setback for the party headed by Uddhav Thackeray.

The alleged political exercise, being referred to in political circles as “Operation Tiger”, has triggered intense discussions ahead of the upcoming legislative session.

Reports Claim MPs in Touch With Shinde Camp

Reports indicate that a number of Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs have been in communication with leaders from the Shinde-led Shiv Sena. Political observers believe that if even a section of these MPs changes sides, it could significantly alter the balance within Maharashtra’s opposition politics.

The reports have surfaced at a time when political parties are actively preparing for upcoming parliamentary and assembly battles.

Speculation Extends to MLAs

The uncertainty is not limited to Parliament. Reports also suggest that some MLAs from the Uddhav Thackeray camp are exploring their political options and maintaining contact with leaders in the ruling alliance.

Although no legislator has publicly confirmed plans to defect, the rumours have fuelled concerns within the Sena (UBT) leadership about a possible fresh round of exits.

Shinde Camp Sees Growing Support

Senior Shiv Sena leader Deepak Kesarkar added to the speculation by claiming that several public representatives are attracted to the governance style and leadership of Eknath Shinde.

According to Kesarkar, many leaders continue to identify with the legacy of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray while also supporting the leadership of Narendra Modi. He suggested that these factors are encouraging some leaders to move closer to the Shinde faction.

Uddhav Calls Key Meeting

Amid the growing buzz, Uddhav Thackeray has stepped up efforts to strengthen communication within his party.

After recently interacting with party MPs, the Sena (UBT) chief has now called a meeting of all MLAs from his faction in Mumbai. The gathering is expected to focus on strategy for the upcoming legislative session and address concerns arising from the ongoing speculation.

Party leaders are expected to discuss political developments and present a united front as rumours of defections continue to dominate Maharashtra’s political landscape.

Political Battle Intensifies

The latest developments have once again highlighted the continuing rivalry between the two Shiv Sena factions. While the Shinde camp remains confident about attracting more leaders, the Uddhav camp insists its legislators remain committed to the party.
