Mumbai: National Students Union of India (NSUI) Mumbai activists on Friday staged a protest against the decision of the Union Government to hold JEE and NEET exams. NSUI activists demanded postponement of NEET and JEE during Covid time under the leadership of NSUI Vice President Ajay Mishra.

NSUI Activists claimed Modi Government is anti-Student as they are holding exams in the pandemic period and not caring about student’s safety. The NSUI activists staged a protest in front of Thakur College of Polytechnic of Kandivali East.

Meanwhile two days ago Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists were caned by police when they tried to stop the vehicle of Maharashtra Minister Abdul Sattar. They had protested requesting him to waive off fees of college students owing to COVID-19 pandemic and they were badly beaten up.

Speaking to thenews21 state BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhyay said “First of all students who were fighting for the rights of NEET and JEE aspirants were badly beaten up. NEET and JEE students want their exams to be conducted.”

“NSUI is now protesting to postpone those exams therefore it has become clear who cares more about Student’s Educational Benefit”, he added.

NSUI Vice President Ajay Mishra said “NSUI has been opposing the decision of the government to hold NEET and JEE exams during the pandemic. We are in solidarity with millions of students, who would have to risk their safety and future to appear for these competitive examinations.”

He also stated “Government should listen to the request and postpone the exams as the number of COVID-19 cases is constantly increasing.”- By
