New Delhi: In a major move to combat air pollution in Delhi, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced on Saturday that vehicles older than 15 years will not be allowed to refuel at petrol pumps starting March 31.

Sirsa stated that the newly formed BJP-led Delhi government is implementing stringent anti-pollution measures, with a focus on reducing vehicular emissions, enforcing stricter regulations, and promoting electric public transport.

“We are installing gadgets at petrol pumps to detect vehicles older than 15 years, ensuring they do not receive fuel. The Union Ministry of Petroleum will also be informed about this decision,” Sirsa said.

Additionally, the Delhi government has made it mandatory for all high-rise buildings, hotels, and commercial complexes to install anti-smog guns to help curb rising pollution levels.
