NMMC set up Covid-19 Bill complaint centre for Navi Mumbaikars

Citizens can call from 8am to 8pm and register complaint regarding exorbitant bills from private hospitals

Navi Mumbai: Despite the notices being served by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) many private hospitals in Navi Mumbai regarding exorbitant bills and strict action being taken against them, the private hospitals are still charging the exorbitant amount of fees from Covid-19 patients in the city. Taking note of this blatant disregard towards official directives and the wrongdoings of the private hospitals in the city the civic body has come up with a dedicated Covid-19 Bill Complaint Centre for the Navi Mumbaikars.

The Navi Mumbaikars can register the complaint regarding private hospitals by kindly calling on the contact number 022-27567389 set up by NMMC or they can email the bill copies on cbcc@nmmconline.com or WhatsApp on 7208490010.

Speaking with this Correspondent NMMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar said, “Even after setting up the committee to check up and audit the private hospitals regarding their exorbitant bills charge the hospitals management are still not following the rules and still charging an exorbitant amount. We are still getting complaints from the citizens about the exorbitant bills from private hospitals and the reason we have initiated Covid-19 Bill Complaint Centre where any complaints by the citizens regarding private hospital can contact them on 022-27567389 or email the bill copies in cbcc@nmmconline.com or WhatsApp no 7208490010. As the cases are increasing in the city and we are trying our level best to bring done the positive cases as well as the death rate too. I would appeal to everyone to stay safe and stay healthy and support the civic body in the campaign #MissionBreaktheChain and #MiPanCovidYodha.”

Dinesh Singh, a resident of Navi Mumbai replying to the NMMC tweet on Covid-19 Bill Complaint Centre said, “Excellent step, to become number one city, all round development and transparency is must. Only a 21st century city can become a role model for 600 other cities.  Start now.”

Uday Vishnu Tilwe, replying to the tweet of NMMC wrote, “Nice action. Will surely give relief to the citizens of Navi Mumbai. Thank you so much, Abhijit Bangar, sir.”

Sujata Dhole, Additional Commissioner of NMMC informed, “I am heading the committee formed to have a check on bills and also audit all the private hospitals in the city. I along with my team am having a check on all the private hospitals. But still there are complaints from some citizens regarding exorbitant bills and the reason the civic body has set up the Covid-19 Bill Complaint Centre where the citizens can complain about the hospital’s exorbitant bills from 8am to 8pm.”- By Abhitash D.
