Patna: On the occasion of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar marked the day with a heartfelt tribute to India’s first Prime Minister. Taking to X, he wrote, “On the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji, I pay my humble respects to him.” The Chief Minister’s message reflects the continuing significance of Nehru’s vision, remembered for shaping India’s democratic foundation and championing scientific and educational progress during his tenure from 1947 to 1964.
As the state pauses to honour Nehru’s legacy, Bihar simultaneously braces for a political climax. With less than an hour remaining for the start of counting in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, anticipation is running high across party lines. The battle lines between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition Mahagathbandhan (MGB) led by Tejashwi Yadav are set for their biggest test yet.
This election has also drawn national attention due to the debut of the Jan Suraaj Party, founded by former political strategist Prashant Kishor. Analysts and voters alike are keen to see whether the new entrant will disrupt established equations or if the electorate will deliver a more familiar outcome.
