The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken control of the residential property belonging to a significant suspect in the 2022 D-company case, located in Thane district, Maharashtra.
The accused individual, known as Arif Abubakar Shaikh or Arif Bhaijaan, was previously apprehended in relation to the case (RC-01/2022/NIA/MUM), which was filed by the NIA on February 3, 2022.
Arif’s residence, situated in the Gaurav Green Row House Co-Operative Housing Society Ltd., Cluster-II, Mangal Nagar, Mira Road East, Thane, has now been seized as ‘proceeds of terrorism’ under section 25 (1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967.
The NIA has already submitted a Chargesheet against three arrested suspects: Arif Abubakar Shaikh, also known as Arif Bhaijan; Shabbir Abubakar Shaikh, also known as Shabbir Takla; and Mohammad Salim Qureshi, also known as Salim Fruit. Additionally, two individuals, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, alias Shaikh Dawood Hassan, and Shakeel Babu Mohiddin Shaikh, alias Chota Shakeel, are wanted in connection with the case. The Chargesheet includes relevant sections of the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) and IPC (Indian Penal Code). Investigations are currently ongoing.
