Actor-turned-politician Vijay has made a massive political move ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, officially launching his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) into the electoral battle with a full list of candidates across all 234 constituencies.
Vijay to Contest From Two Key Seats
At a major event in Chennai, Vijay announced that he will contest from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East, signalling a strong strategy to expand his influence across both northern and central Tamil Nadu.
Direct Attack on DMK
In his speech, Vijay positioned the election as a direct contest between his “people’s alliance” and the ruling camp led by M. K. Stalin. His remarks clearly indicated a strong challenge to the DMK ahead of the polls.
Key Candidates Announced
The party’s candidate list includes several faces across important constituencies. Names like Anand from T. Nagar, Adav Arjun from Villivakkam, and Rajmohan from Egmore were among those announced, with Vijay calling them “guardians of the people.”
Emotional Moment on Stage
A powerful moment during the event came when Vijay gave a ticket to Shabarinathan, the son of his long-time driver Rajendran. The emotional scene, where both were seen in tears, received huge applause and highlighted Vijay’s message of loyalty and inclusiveness.
Big Promises for Voters
TVK also unveiled a bold set of promises, including creating a drug-free Tamil Nadu, offering education loans up to ₹20 lakh without collateral, and providing unemployment assistance to youth. The party also promised 75% local jobs in private companies, internship opportunities, rural employment schemes, and interest-free loans for entrepreneurs.
