Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that Indian Navy vessels are actively escorting oil tankers through the sensitive Strait of Hormuz to ensure safe passage amid rising tensions in West Asia. He added that the government is closely monitoring the situation in the region.
India Prepared for Any Energy Disruption
Speaking at a Sainik Samman Sammelan in poll-bound Kerala, Singh assured that India is not facing any shortage of fuel or gas. He said the country is fully prepared to handle any disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict and emphasised that authorities are ready to respond to any emerging scenario.
Government Closely Tracking West Asia Crisis
The Defence Minister reiterated that developments in West Asia are being closely watched and necessary steps are being taken to safeguard national interests. He stressed that the government remains alert and proactive amid the evolving geopolitical situation.
Modi’s Diplomatic Role Highlighted
Singh also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he is actively using diplomatic channels to protect India’s interests in the Gulf region during the crisis.

During his address, Singh urged voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections. He described the party’s promises as “Modiyude guarantees” and called Modi’s leadership “24-carat gold,” highlighting it as reliable and proven.

The Kerala Assembly elections, which will cover 140 seats, are scheduled for April 9. The statement comes as political campaigning intensifies in the state, with national leaders stepping up outreach efforts.
