NCP leader Dilip Walse takes charge as Maharashtra Home Minister after Anil Deshmukh resigns

@the_news_21

After Anil Deshmukh’s resignation veteran NCP leader Dilip Walse Patil took the charge of Maharashtra Home Minister. Patil’s Labour Department charge has been given to Hasan Mushrif as an additional charge and the state Excise Department will be looked after by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.

Mr Deshmukh quit hours after the Bombay High Court ordered a preliminary CBI investigation into allegations of corruption against him by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.

The High Court also directed the CBI to register an FIR if any offence was found and said Mr Deshmukh is the Home Minister and an impartial probe should be carried out by the police.
