Goodbye Old Slabs, Hello Simpler GST
The 12% and 28% GST slabs have been removed for many items. Most daily-use goods now fall under 0%, 5%, or 18% GST, while ultra-luxury items continue at 40% GST.

Zero GST on Essentials
Several items that were previously taxed at 5% are now completely tax-free, including:

Paneer, Chhena, and UHT milk

Chapati, paratha, kulcha, khakhra, and pizza bread

Life and health insurance

33 essential medicines and medical oxygen

School supplies like sharpeners, crayons, pastels, notebooks, pencils, and erasers

Families, especially with children, will feel immediate relief in daily household spending.

Daily Food & Toiletries Now Just 5% GST
Staples like atta, rice, namkeen, biscuits, and daily necessities such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and detergent now attract only 5% GST, reducing monthly grocery bills significantly.

Electronics Get Cheaper Too
Big-ticket items like air conditioners, refrigerators, and TVs, which were earlier taxed at 28%, now come under the 18% GST slab, offering attractive savings just in time for the festive season.
