More than 70 crore vaccine doses of Covid-19 have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over one crore 13 lakh vaccine doses were administered to the eligible beneficiaries in the country during the last 24 hours. The Union Health Ministry in a statement said that the country has reported over 31 thousand 948 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload is currently at 3 lakh 92 thousand and 864.
The active cases constitute 1.19 per cent of the total reported cases so far.
The Ministry said, over 42 thousand people recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than three crore 22 lakh. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.48 per cent.
The Ministry said, weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.56 per cent which is less than three per cent for last 74 days. Daily positivity rate is reported to be at 2.05 per cent and it is less than 3 per cent for last 8 days. The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and more than 53.31 crore tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in total. Yesterday more than 15.26 lakh tests were conducted. 290 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours taking the death toll due to the pandemic to 4 lakh 41 thousand 42.
