Congress leader Nana Patole has launched a sharp attack on the BJP amid the ongoing political upheaval involving the Trinamool Congress, accusing the ruling party at the Centre of deliberately weakening regional political forces across the country.
Speaking in Nagpur, Patole claimed that recent developments within the Trinamool Congress were part of a broader strategy aimed at reducing the influence of state-based parties and consolidating political power at the national level.
Congress Targets BJP Over Regional Party Turmoil
Referring to the political crisis triggered by the rebellion within the Trinamool Congress, Patole alleged that the BJP has consistently pursued a policy of encouraging divisions within opposition parties.
According to him, the trend has become increasingly visible in recent years, with several regional outfits facing internal fractures and defections.
Patole Cites Earlier BJP Remarks
The Congress leader recalled past remarks made by BJP president J. P. Nadda, claiming that the BJP had openly expressed its intention to diminish the influence of regional parties.
Patole argued that current political developments indicate that such a strategy is now being actively implemented.
‘Public Sentiment Being Ignored’
The Maharashtra Congress leader further alleged that the Centre was paying little attention to public sentiment while pursuing political expansion.
He contended that voters across the country are closely observing developments and would ultimately judge such actions through the democratic process.
