The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra has finalized its 21-17-10 seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. According to the formula, the Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray will contest 21 seats, while the Congress will field candidates in 17 constituencies, and the Nationalist Congress Party (Samajwadi Party) will fight in 10 seats.
The Congress will contest from Nandurbar, Dhule, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Nanded, Jalna, Mumbai North Central, Pune, Latur, Solapur, Kolhapur, and the two Mumbai North constituencies.
The NCP (SP) has been allocated the seats of Baramati, Shirur, Satara, Bhiwandi, Dindori, Madha, Raver, Wardha, Ahmednagar South, and Beed.
Meanwhile, the Uddhav Sena will contest in Jalgaon, Parbhani, Nasik, Palghar, Kalyan, Thane, Raigad, Maval, Dharashiv, Ratnagiri, Buldhana, Hatkanangle, Shirdi, Sambhajinagar, Sangli, Hingoli, Yavatmal, and the four Mumbai South constituencies.
The seat-sharing pact aims to present a united front against the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde group) alliance in the state. The MVA leaders expressed confidence in their ability to put up a strong challenge and replicate their previous success in the 2019 assembly elections.
The finalization of the 21-17-10 seat-sharing formula comes after weeks of negotiations and discussions among the MVA constituents, addressing any potential conflicts and ensuring a cohesive approach for the crucial parliamentary polls.
