More than 87.66 cr COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in country; Recovery rate stands at 97.83%

More than 87 crore 66 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Health Ministry said, over 54 lakh 13 thousand doses were administered yesterday. India reported daily new cases less than 20 thousand. More than 18 thousand new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. India’s Active caseload stands at two lakh 82 thousand 520 and it is the lowest in 194 days. Active cases account for less than one per cent of total cases and it is currently at 0.84 per cent, the lowest since March last year.

The Ministry said, the recovery rate is currently at 97.83 per cent, highest since March last year. Over 28 thousand people recovered in the last 24 hours and total recoveries touched three crore 29 lakh 86 thousand 180. The weekly positivity rate currently stands at 1.82 per cent which is less than three per cent for the last 96 days. Daily positivity rate is at 1.25 per cent which is less than three per cent for last 30 days.

The death toll due to the pandemic has reached four lakh 47 thousand 751. In all, 378 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. Over 56 crore 74 lakh COVID tests conducted so far. Over 15 lakh four thousand tests were conducted yesterday.
