Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the ongoing conflict in West Asia has created a challenging situation for global energy supply, but assured that India is handling the crisis strongly due to its strategic planning and global partnerships.
West Asia Conflict Impact on Fuel
Speaking during his Mann Ki Baat programme, PM Modi explained that West Asia plays a key role in meeting the world’s energy needs. Due to the ongoing war in the region, pressure is building on fuel supply chains, leading to concerns over petrol and diesel availability globally.
India ‘Facing Challenges Strongly’
The Prime Minister said India is in a better position compared to many countries because of its strong foreign relations and preparedness built over the last decade. He emphasised that the country is actively managing the situation with support from international partners.
Thanks to Gulf Nations
PM Modi also thanked Gulf countries for supporting Indians living there. He noted that over one crore Indians reside in the region and appreciated the assistance provided to ensure their safety during the crisis.
Warning Against Rumours and Panic
The Prime Minister issued a clear warning against spreading misinformation. He urged citizens to rely only on official updates and avoid believing or forwarding rumours, stating that such actions can create unnecessary panic.
Appeal for Unity, Not Politics
PM Modi stressed that the crisis should not be politicised, calling it a matter of national interest affecting 140 crore citizens. He urged people to stay united and support efforts to overcome the situation.
Confidence in Overcoming Crisis
Ending his message, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that India will overcome the challenge just like it did during the COVID-19 pandemic, through collective effort and discipline.
