Raj Thackeray demands resignation of Anil Deshmukh

Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president, Raj Thackeray on Sunday demanded that Centre should intervene and conduct a thorough investigation into the incident that happened near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence where a vehicle was recovered containing gelatin sticks.
Speaking to newspersons at his Krushna Kunj residence in Mumbai, Thackeray demanded the resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh after former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh had purportedly named him in a letter sent to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The MNS leader said that the former Mumbai police commissioner’ has made serious charges against Deshmukh where he has categorically blamed the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader ordering Sachin Waze to collect funds from bars and restaurants.
“Such type of allegations against a sitting Home Minister by a Mumbai police official was never made in the history of Maharashtra and the country. Anil Deshmukh should resign on moral grounds and if does not resign then chief minister should ask him to resign”, remarked Thackeray.
He also said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Mukesh Ambani share a cordial relationship. He questioned the language in the threat letter recovered from the vehicle in which gelatin sticks were found.
“Basic question is whether a vehicle containing gelatin sticks was kept by Police near Mukesh Ambani’s residence. We have heard that terrorists usually plant bombs but here the scenario is different”, he said.
“Why Param Bir Singh was shunted as Mumbai police commissioner is not known yet. Is he involved in the crime? If yes, he should also be probed”, he said.
Thackeray further asked from where were the gelatin sticks procured. “Sachin Waze was suspended in the Khwaja Yunus case earlier. He was behind bars for 28 days. Waze joined the Shiv Sena. When Devendra Fadnavis led government came to power Uddhav Thackeray urged him to reinstate Waze in the police force”, Thackeray said.
“Waze is a close aide of Uddhav Thackeray. Mukesh Ambani and Uddhav has good relations. Without instructions the police cannot do this”, he added.
