In a dramatic turn of events, UBT faction MLA Nitin Deshmukh has called for a narco test of Maharashtra legislative assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar, a day after the speaker rendered his decision in the Shiv Sena MLA disqualification case.
Deshmukh alleges that Narwekar’s verdict was predictable and suggests that a narco test would unveil alleged conspiracies orchestrated by the ruling party. In a sarcastic remark, Deshmukh proposes that Narwekar be appointed as a Supreme Court judge, implying that his decisions would benefit the country.
The speaker’s decision, delivered on Wednesday, identified the Shinde faction as the authentic Shiv Sena but refrained from disqualifying any MLAs from either faction. Deshmukh expresses dissatisfaction with the outcome, stating that the conspiracy was premeditated from the beginning.
Deshmukh takes a swipe at CM Shinde, asserting that despite the unfavorable verdict for his party, Uddhav Thackeray has strategically planned for the future. He criticizes CM Shinde, suggesting that if his promised 40 MLAs are not visible, he should adhere to his statement about returning to farming.
“Voters are with Uddhav Thackeray,” Deshmukh declares, emphasizing that public sentiment will play a pivotal role in shaping the political landscape. Despite the setback, he remains confident that the main verdict will be in favor of Thackeray when voters have their say.
