Mumbai: In ongoing controversy related to naming a small ground in Mumbai after Tipu Sultan, BJP MLA from Mumbai Amit Satam has clarified that when he was chairman of BMC’s ‘Works Committee’ he had never moved any proposal to name any road of Mumbai city after Tipu Sultan.

Satam challenged Mumbai Guardian minister Aslam Shaikh and Mumbai Mayor to show proof that can support their allegations against him.

“If they don’t have any proof against me regarding their allegations that I was involved in moving any proposal to name road against Tipu sultan they should be better prepared to face a defamation suit.” Said Satam.

Satam further asked Aslam Shaikh to clarify why permission was granted to Cordelia Cruise during lockdown when everything was shut. What’s relation Aslam Shaikh has got with that ships questions Satam?

He further demanded an answer from Aslam Shaikh on why did he endorse the mercy plea of Yakub Memon who was involved in the 1992-93 Mumbai attack?
