Renowned Bollywood actor and political figure Mithun Chakraborty has been reportedly admitted to Apollo Hospital in Kolkata after experiencing chest pain on Saturday (February 10). The actor, famed for his dynamic performances and iconic dance moves, is currently undergoing treatment at the private hospital.

According to media reports, Chakraborty felt uneasy, prompting his immediate transfer to the hospital for medical attention. However, neither the actor’s family members nor the hospital administration has issued any official statement regarding his hospitalisation at this time.

In January 2024, Mithun Chakraborty was honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, India’s third-highest civilian honor, by the Government of India. In a heartfelt video message expressing his gratitude for the recognition, the three-time National Film Award winner conveyed his pride and happiness, emphasizing his appreciation for the honor bestowed upon him.

Known for his magnetic presence on-screen and his versatile performances, Mithun Chakraborty gained immense popularity during the 1980s and 1990s, particularly for his roles in action, drama, and dance-centric films. His unparalleled dance skills earned him the moniker “Disco Dancer,” inspired by his iconic role in the 1982 film of the same name.

Beyond his illustrious film career, Chakraborty has also made significant strides in the political arena. He briefly served as a Member of Parliament and made headlines when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March 2021, ahead of the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election.

In recent times, Mithun Chakraborty has been active on television screens as a judge on the popular dance reality show “Dance Bangla Dance,” sharing the spotlight with fellow celebrities Mouni Roy, Subhashree Ganguly, Srabanti Chatterjee, and Puja Banerjee.
