Mumbai: Amid the lockdown, Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation has decided to open photocopy and stationery shops between 9 am to 9 pm till 8, May. Municipal commissioner Chandrakant Dange issued the orders on Tuesday. The decision was taken in view of the inconvenience faced by migrant workers and other stranded people who have to file online/offline applications supported by documents including medical certificates to obtain travel permissions for their homebound journey.
Meanwhile, there are 190 positive cases in the twin city, from which 114 positive cases had recovered in MBMC and five succumbed to death. However, from the total number (190) of cases, 96 were having work history in Mumbai or contacted from family members.
Looking at the graph of Covid-19 cases in Mira Bhayander there has been a dip in numbers of patients after the complete lockdown was introduced in the city. Taking note of that MBMC commissioner gave some relaxation, and allowed the opening of grocery and essential shops between 9 am and 3 pm while fruit, vegetable, mutton, chicken and fish shops and markets will continue to remain shut till May 8.- By Salman Khan
