Maharashtra and Uttrakhand Trade organisations join hands for greater cooperation

MoU signed in presence of Governor Koshyari and Uttarakhand Industry Minister Chandan Ram

Mumbai: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA) and the SIDCUL Manufacturers Association Uttarakhand at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. The MoU was signed in presence of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Uttarakhand’s Minister of Industries Chandan Ram Das.

President of Maharashtra Chamber Lalit Gandhi and President of SIDCUL Manufacturers’ Association Dr Harindra Kumar Garg exchanged the MoU. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Koshyari said, Uttarakhand has much scope in sectors like Information Technology, Herbal Industries, Adventure Tourism and others. He called upon the members of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Industry to prosper and also help Uttarakhand to come up in trade.

Uttarakhand Minister Chandan Ram Das said, captains of industry and trade from Maharashtra having units in Uttarakhand are the ambassadors of the State. He said that Uttarakhand State has started a single-window clearance system for trade and businesses. Stating that the State is also creating a Land Bank for businesses, he appealed to business leaders from Maharashtra to set up industries in the hilly terrains of Uttarakhand which according to him will help in curbing the migration of people.

He said Uttarakhand has great scope for Tourism, Hospitality, Herbal, Organic Industry and Pharma Industry.

MACCIA President Lalit Gandhi announced setting up a Skill Training Centre in Uttarakhand. He said MACCIA will also invite SIDCUL members to participate in the Trade Expo being organised early next year.

Chairman Trust Board of MACCIA Ashish Pednekar, Vice President Karunakar Shetti, General Secretary of SIDCUL Raj Arora, Shaiesh Ajmera, Khubilal Rathod, MACCIA Women’s Wing president Sangita Patil, Tom Thomas, Khubilal Rathod, Avikshit Raman and others were present.
