In Madhya Pradesh, the state government announced yesterday that 4 more cities of Betul, Chhindwara, Ratlam and Khargone will be locked down every sunday till further orders. Sunday lockdown is already in force in Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur.
News agency reports that Schools and colleges will remain closed till 31st March in these seven cities. Besides this in the cities where more than 20 cases are being reported daily, and in the districts where the average new cases per week are more than 20, only 50 persons can attend a marriage ceremony and only 20 people can take part in the last rites.
More than 20 cases are being reported daily in Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar, Vidisha, Barwani and Burhanpur. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday reported 1,712 new COVID-19 cases while 950 people were discharged from the hospital. The positivity rate of Indore for the last seven days has been 8.47 percent, while in Bhopal it has increased to 15.95 percent.
