Lucknow: A shocking incident in the Madeyganj area of Lucknow sparked outrage on Friday evening after a cow’s head was discovered outside a temple near Hanumant Nagar Shanti Vatika in Khadra. The gruesome sight triggered tensions in the locality, prompting swift police action and intervention by BJP MLA Neeraj Bora.
Upon receiving the information, MLA Bora immediately reached the spot and assured strict action against those responsible. He took to social media platform X, writing in Hindi, “This type of incident is a big conspiracy to harm harmony. The police are investigating thoroughly. The culprits will not be spared at any cost.”
Police Begin Investigation, Deploy Additional Forces
Lucknow Police, treating the incident with urgency, deployed PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) and additional personnel to prevent any escalation. Senior officials reached the location and ensured the remains were removed following legal procedures.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Manisha Singh, in a video statement, confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway. “Scientific and technical evidence is being gathered, and stringent legal action will follow once the perpetrators are identified,” she stated. CCTV footage from the area is being analyzed, and specialized teams have been formed to crack the case. A veterinary doctor is also being consulted to determine further details about the remains.
Local Outrage and Communal Tensions
Residents alleged that this was the third such incident in the past two years, raising suspicions of a deliberate attempt to incite communal discord. Locals further claimed that CCTV footage from a previous incident showed a dog carrying a cow’s head, but many believe this case is different and involves intentional slaughter.
