Srinagar: Locals of Lolab valley on Friday organised Kargil Vijay Diwas Bike Rally to pay tribute to our fallen heroes and to mark remembrance of the victorious moments of Operation Vijay in which the bravehearts bravely foiled the Pakistani mission.
The Locals of Lolab Valley, district Kupwara organised a first of its kind Kargil Vijay Diwas Bike rally to pay tribute to our fallen heroes and to remember the victorious moment of ‘Op Vijay’ in which the Pakistani mission was bravely evicted by our bravehearts and fallen heroes’. The event commenced with a national anthem followed by flagging off of the bike rally by an elderly local.
It was heartening to see that around 40 Young Biker’s, 45 NCC Cadets, 35 Scouts and Guides, 35 Students and 25 locals voluntarily and enthusiastically participated in this unique bike rally and made this event a big success.
The bike rally was fully filled patriotic fervour wherein the pillion riders along with posters of our fallen heroes on their hands hailed patriotic slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram’. This hailing throughout the route by the pillion riders while waiving the National Flag captured the attention of locals and they too repeated the patriotic slogans with them. Overall, the rally covered a distance of 5 Kms from Chandigam and passed through the exotic locales of Gundmachhar, Sogam and the rally ended at Chandigam.
The rally aimed to pay tributes to our fallen heroes and to remember victorious moment of ‘Op Vijay’ and to promote the spirit of patriotism amongst the locals and inspire them to proceed ahead and work towards national integration. Such rallies also promote tourism and will expose exotic locales of pristine Lolab valley to tourists. The rally culminated over serving of refreshments to the rally participants at Chandigam.
