In a significant move ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, has revealed its complete list of 42 candidates for constituencies across West Bengal. The announcement, made on Sunday, highlights several notable selections, including former cricketer Yusuf Pathan’s nomination to contest from Berhampore against Congress heavyweight Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Firebrand leader Mahua Moitra has been re-nominated by the party to represent the Krishnanagar constituency, while former cricketer Kirti Azad will carry the party’s banner in Durgapur.

Abhishek Banerjee, the party’s general secretary and Mamata’s nephew, will seek reelection from the party stronghold of Diamond Harbour. Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has been named as the candidate for the Asansol seat, adding star power to the TMC’s lineup.

The list also includes several new faces and grassroots leaders, reflecting the party’s strategy to blend experience with fresh perspectives. Notably, Debangshu Bhattacharya, a youth leader known for his involvement in the ‘khela hobe’ campaign, has been chosen to contest from Tamluk.

The comprehensive list covers constituencies from all corners of West Bengal, with candidates selected to represent diverse demographics and interests. Each nomination represents a strategic move by the TMC to consolidate its position and appeal to voters across the state.
