Patil’s decision to switch allegiance to the Thackeray group was finalized today during a meeting at Matoshree, where party chief Uddhav Thackeray and MP Sanjay Raut were present to welcome him into the party fold. Patil’s dissatisfaction with BJP’s decision to field Smita Wagh as the candidate from Jalgaon prompted his move to join the Shiv Sena.
Having arrived in Mumbai directly on Tuesday, Unmesh Patil held discussions with MP Sanjay Raut before meeting party chief Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree. Following these deliberations, Patil’s transition to the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena was confirmed, with his official induction into the party taking place today.
