Tensions simmered in the political arena as Prime Minister Narendra Modi doubled down on his anti-corruption stance while RJD president Lalu Prasad’s daughter, Misa Bharti, fired back with a bold assertion that Modi and other BJP leaders would face imprisonment if the opposition INDIA bloc assumed power at the Centre.

The verbal jousting unfolded against the backdrop of PM Modi’s rally in Rajasthan’s Karauli, where he lambasted the previous Congress-led state government over exam paper leaks and corruption allegations. Modi’s fervent call to rid the nation of corruption clashed sharply with Misa Bharti’s retaliatory rhetoric, setting the stage for a heated exchange.

PM Modi’s resolute declaration that the corrupt would face incarceration resonated through his speech. “No matter how many threats you make, they will have to go to jail. This is Modi’s guarantee,” he asserted, drawing a clear line against corruption.

In a strategic shift, Misa Bharti redirected the narrative, addressing allegations against her family and accusing the ruling party of misconduct. “If INDIA forms a government at the Centre, Modi and other BJP leaders will be put in jail,” she proclaimed, challenging the status quo with a bold assertion of opposition power.

However, Misa’s remarks drew swift rebuttals from BJP leaders, who characterized her statements as divisive and unfounded. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha countered with a reminder of the Bharti family’s alleged acquisition of substantial assets, questioning their origins.

Meanwhile, BJP’s Bihar in-charge, Vinod Tawde, decried the deteriorating discourse in Bihar’s political landscape, condemning personal attacks against the Prime Minister instead of constructive dialogue on pertinent issues.

Senior BJP figure Ravi Shankar Prasad cautioned Misa against making irresponsible remarks, highlighting corruption allegations leveled against her and her family members. Similarly, Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party accused the RJD of vendetta politics, alleging corruption within its ranks.
